The IISC has a mission to organise seminars and conferences by leading academics and intellectuals.
Starting with the first public seminar series in the autumn of 2007 with a presentation by the leading French intellectual Ignacio Ramonet, the IISC is committed to giving an ongoing opportunity for the general public and scholars alike to learn from and exchange views with experts on all matters relating to Cuba and its relationship with the wider world.
The IISC has collaborated with the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of London and, since 2020, with the Humanities Research Institute at the University of Buckingham, where it is now located
